How ScareCapture collects, uses and protects your data. Last updated 25 September 2026.
This policy explains what personal data ScareCapture collects, why we collect it and how we look after it. It covers this website and the ScareCapture video capture service used at partner events.
ScareCapture provides video capture and redemption systems for scare attractions, theme parks and immersive events. Our website address is https://scarecapture.co.uk. For anything relating to your data, contact us at info@scarecapture.co.uk.
When you book a demo we collect your name, company, email address, phone number, event or attraction name, estimated attendance and anything you write in the message field. We use this to respond to your enquiry, arrange the demo and follow up about our service. We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after our last contact.
When you ask for help with a video we collect your name, email address, the event and date you attended, your card or lanyard number if you have it and a description of the issue. We use this only to locate your footage and resolve your request. Support requests are kept for 12 months.
This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work, such as those set by the contact forms to prevent spam. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
ScareCapture cameras record guests at agreed points inside partner attractions. Signage at the entrance tells guests that video capture is in operation, and the card or lanyard they receive links the footage to their visit. Guests can preview their clips at the redemption kiosk and choose whether to purchase them.
We share data only with providers who help us run the service: our web hosting provider, our email provider and the payment processor used at redemption kiosks. Each of them processes data on our instructions and under contract. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK unless the provider offers equivalent protection.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to restrict its use. Email info@scarecapture.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy as the service develops. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
